New Night Race: One of my favorite things about running longer races is getting to run at night.  Nothing will make your senses come more alive than running through the woods in the dark with only a headlamp to light the way.  Last May during a nighttime training run for one of these races, some friends who had never run in the dark joined me at Lake Perry for a few miles of nocturnal fun.  They loved it and thus the concept of this year's night race was born.  Join us this July for our inaugural Late Night at Lake Perry event.  

 

New Race HQ/Start and Finish: Beginning with this year's Night Race, The Rock Creek Trail Series has a new home, the Branded "B" Ranch, located near the north end of the trail system on 74th Street. The Branded "B" provides us with electricity, water, restrooms, shelter and for the night race, beds. That's right, if you want a place to crash after your run, the Branded "B" is making their newly remodeled bunk houses available to us for just $12 a bed. 

 

New Course: A new starting location will require us to design a new course, but don't you worry, all your favorite trails will still be included. Once finalized, we will post information on the new course. 

 

Lighting: Although we had worked hard this past winter, installing 15 miles worth of solar power garden lights to help you find your way around the trails after sunset, we will unfortunately be forced once again to use headlights and/or flashlights as hoodlums have stolen all of our nice new lighting.
