Rock Creek Trail Series

The first Rock Creek Race of 2010 is in the books. On a snowy March morning 31 (of over 80 registered) runners braved over 6" of new snow, cold temps. and 30 mph winds to compete in the Rock Creek 10K and 5K. The 10K was won by Brad Bishop in a time of 53:30, with Kelly Hennes winning the woman's race in 1:08:32. Ryan Wenrich ran away with the 5K in a time of 29:22, while Breeanna Hansford took the woman's race in 47:01.

The runners got a real treat. The trails were absolutely beautiful on a morning where it was a lot more fun to be a runner than a volunteer. Thanks to those folks who stood out in the snow and cold to care for the adventurous soles who showed up despite the weather. Thanks also to MK Thompson who hand made the awards for this year's opener...they were fantastic, and everyone who walked away with one of MK's awards now owns a piece of Rock Creek...literally, as they were made from wood found along the course.

Results are posted on the Rock Creek 10K/5K event page.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
